How to Disassemble the Laser Pointer

It is believed that conventional inexpensive laser pointer, sold at newsstands, a folding design. However, using special techniques, it lends itself to dismantling with no damage.

Change clothes in clothes and shoes are not able to accumulate an electrostatic charge. Then briefly touch a radiator. This way you will prevent damage to the laser diode by static electricity. Remove the cover from the pointer, a green laser 301 or laser 303, and pull out the battery. Combine them so that they do not touch each other. Remove from the housing of the device insulating cylinder of the film. Save it. Remove the nozzle from the pointer and set it aside.

Wrap the unit in several layers of fabric. Gently, so as not to deform the body, hold the wrapped pointer in a vise screw up. Screw the nut on the thread. Then, using plier, keep it dimmed. Keep pliers and nut straight, avoiding skews. Gradually exits the emitter housing and remains on the nut.

Remove the nut from the emitter. Now you can close button (but not the resistor!) and submit to the emitter voltage of about 4 from the three series-connected large batteries AA or AAA size via an additional resistor of about 100 ohms nominal value and a large, easy switch. Pre-parallel to the laser diode, connect a capacitor of about 0.01 mkF. Measure the current through the pointer. It should not exceed 35 mA. If necessary, adjust the resistor value. Connecting and disconnecting the milliammeter or an equivalent instrument is combined with the power disconnected. Keep in mind also the need to protect the laser from static electricity. If the laser diode is a chip, is shown at the emitter with extreme care so as not to brush it off.
